Driving involves more than just being able to move through traffic safely. When mid-season thaws cause the road to deteriorate beneath your tires, it’s also about navigating potholes. Damaged tires and wheels can sometimes leave drivers stuck by the side of the road without money. Numerous risks are associated with the pothole menace; some are too huge and minor, but all are hazardous to you and your vehicles. In this blog by Lum’s Auto Center We have outlined a few tips to prevent your vehicle damage from potholes. Since avoiding every road with a pothole is challenging, one should exercise caution when fixing them. Scroll down and learn more.

Top Three Tips to Prevent Your Vehicle from Potholes:

Drive Cautiously on Unfamiliar Roads

Highways tend to have a lot of potholes, so if you’re on one for the first time, drive carefully and keep an eye out for them because we tend to expect potholes on short roads but not so much on long ones.

Hold firmly

You must maintain a firm hold on the steering wheel since potholes might give your vehicle a severe jolt. Otherwise, you risk losing control of your vehicle and drifting into the adjacent lane.

Driving at Night

Make sure your headlights and fog lights are in functioning order before you start your vehicle in the dark and attempt to ease off on the gas. Especially at night, low vision can make it difficult to see road bumps and potholes, especially if you’re driving fast.
